Simplification
and Harmonization ( S & H)
Benefits
of Simplification and Harmonization
There are a numerous of
benefits arising from Simplification and Harmonization once fully implemented:
- These include reduced
transaction costs for governments and UN agencies, increased efficiency, enhanced
coordination and synergy.
- Simplified processes
and reduced workloads over the programme cycle. Establishing a common language
will make it easier to compare documents and procedures for our partners and
among agencies.
- As the recommendations
are closely linked to the Common Country Assessment (CCA) and United Nations
Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) process, they will help strengthen
the CCA and UNDAF as instruments for building national capacity.
- Likewise, they will
facilitate the financial reporting and monitoring and evaluation of the work
of the agencies and create a standard progress report, which can be used as
basis for each agency’s reports as well as donor reports.
