The major objective of the Programme is to improve interagency collaboration by setting up a multi agency project tracking system. The funds needed to develop this system will be contributed by Extra-budgetary funds from UNDP and the Resident Coordinator System. This system will include project data of all UN agencies and it will be designed as a tool for improved planning and programming of UN activities in Kenya by facilitating the use of experiences drawn from other projects and to improve interagency collaboration by sharing information amongst UN agencies. The system will be set up in a participatory manner to ensure support and commitment of all UN agencies. This process has already started and resulted in a format to gather and register project information. The system will be interactive; which means that agencies are responsible to maintain and update their part of the database. It is foreseen that this project will be included in a broader project on information sharing which UNDP Kenya and others are currently preparing. The project will include the technical development and implementation of the system, training on the use and maintenance of the system, preparation of linkage to other complementary initiatives, and outreach.
